The Morgan At Provost Square – Fire Alarm – 27th Floor

From: Jane Ashwood (ENTERPRISE)
Date: September 16, 2018, 9:18 pm
Subject: Fire Alarm – 27th Floor

Good Evening –

A fire alarm sounded tonight on the 27th floor. which was caused by food burnt on a stove. If anyone burns food on the stove please do not open your apartment door as the smoke in the hallway will trigger the alarms. It is best to open the windows inside your apartment. The fire department was dispatched and all is fine.

Just wanted to let you all know that everything is ok.

Have a great night.

Best,
Jane.

We’re just happy the elevators were not on fire again.  Thumbs up for the prompt communication though.

Morgan Property Manager Job No Longer on Careers Site – Hire Made?

Following our previous link to the Property Manager job posting on the Toll Brothers careers site now returns the following message:

property_manager_job_filled

Could it be?  A real property manager of our very own?  We want to believe!  This is extremely positive news if true.  On the flip side, it could have been taken down for lack of budget or myriad other reasons.

Don’t tease us like this, @tollBrosJobs.  Will we have someone full time to harangue about the building?  For the record, sending Carl from the mailroom to check in every few weeks doesn’t count.

PS – your “Job compeltion image” is broken.  Don’t say we never do anything nice for you.

The Morgan At Provost Square – End of Summer Event

Subject: End of Summer Event

Happy Saturday!

We are planning an End of Summer Party for Friday, September 14th! The event will be held on the 8th floor amenity deck from 6 pm to 10 pm. Please stop by to enjoy some music, food and drinks. More information will be shared shortly.

Hope to see you there!

Best,
Jane.

Music?  Food?  Drinks?  What’s not to love?  We certainly love to drink!  No word on the music yet, but given how this summer has gone, we think Toll Brothers should go big for this one.  May we make a humble suggestion?

The Morgan At Provost Square – Pool

From: Gigi Valderrama (Leasing)

Subject: Pool

Dear Residents –
Please be advised that the pool is closed for the season. We understand that last year the closing was extended for two weeks after Labor Day however the contract for this season was through Labor Day and we were unable to extend it. We are sorry! Next year we will be looking to contract through the end of September.

The good news is that we will be sending out information shortly for our next resident event so stayed tuned!

Thank You.

The Morgan at Provost Square Team

We are pretty sure this means management isn’t going to distribute pool passes this year.

August Resident Recap

August was a mixed bag for Morgan residents, with a few notable improvements and a few (sadly avoidable) disasters.

Kicking the month off on a positive note, our residents on the lower floors were happy that the smell was addressed by cleaning the trash chutes.

Of course, the elevators broke at least twice this month with multiple residents reporting that building management is not responding or is totally MIA.  This month also marked the start of a disturbing trend of Absentee Jane not sending out notices when the elevators were out or when maintenance is scheduled.  We are not sure if she is just busy managing her five other properties, or if she is trying to avoid documenting the multiple outages.  Either way, the honeymoon is definitely over, as more and more residents are officially fed up with 5 months of all talk and little action.

Fortunately, more Morgan residents have joined our blog and submitted problem reports to help keep management accountable and raise awareness of the building’s issues.  We even have ex-Morgan residents and ex-Toll Brothers employees reaching out to express their support.  August was a record month for blog traffic, helped along by our switch to our fancy new pleasenomorgan.com domain.

Our prediction of the building internet upgrade not going to plan sadly came to fruition, with it being out for 3 solid weeks before service was mostly restored.  Of course Absentee Jane was nowhere to be found, with residents asking about the outage being completely ignored, and no updates sent for three weeks.  “It will be up and running shortly.”  Riiiiight.

On a positive note, we suspect our “shame campaign” is working as there was a flurry of activity at the end of the month addressing some long-standing open items on our management promises scorecard.  The missing gym equipment was restored, the outdoor TV was finally replaced, and we might actually have clean windows again.  Let’s keep that momentum going, Toll Brothers.

The Morgan At Provost Square – Window Washing

Subject: Window Washing

Happy Friday!

The window washing is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, September 5th with an estimated completion date of Saturday, September 8th, weather permitting. The window washing company will be arriving each morning at 8 am and finishing at 4 pm. Please be mindful of workers outside your window in regards to securing your privacy. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me.

Have a wonderful holiday weekend.

Best,
Jane.

Our “honey do” list is starting to pay dividends, possibly helped along by our loyal readers from Horsham.  If we put “hire a building manager” in giant font and flashing letters, can we get that one done too?

Resident Report: Two Elevators Out – Possible Maintenance?

One of our residents submitted a report on the elevators this morning:

pe3 and 4 appear to be out of service.  some guys in work suits around so maybe it is maintenance?

Anyone else experiencing problems this morning?  Management hasn’t sent out a notice but they’ve pretty much stopped doing that since July (probably because of the bad PR it causes among residents).  Let us know and remember we keep all resident submissions anonymous.

The Morgan At Provost Square – Updates

From: Jane Ashwood (ENTERPRISE)
Date: August 30, 2018, 1:41 pm
Subject: Updates

Good Afternoon –

The WIFI transition to Comcast was completed last week. We did experience some interruptions this week as Comcast was finalizing some work. All is operational and we have added an additional router for the fitness center to ensure consistent service. The network names and passwords remain the same as they were under Verizon with the addition of the Fitness Center:

TheMorgan
Amenities
FitnessCenter

Password for all is still [Redacted].

Because this is a new service you may have to search for the network and log in to it the first time you use it. If you experience any difficulties or need any assistance please let us know.

The cabling work for the outdoor television was completed this week and it is operational.

Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday weekend.

Thank you,
Jane

Wow, a blockbuster update from our favorite corporate paratrooper!  A new TV has magically appeared where before there was a sad black bag and Jane successfully flips a red square to green on our management promises scorecard.  It took all summer – and some public shaming from your humble proprietors – but what’s a few months between friends?  Thank you Jane!

As soon as we heard the news about the WiFi, we dispatched our intrepid technology team to verify management’s claims.  After all, Absentee Jane’s description of three weeks of totally non-functional internet as “some interruptions” does strike us as a bit whimsical.  Their report is in, and the news is… mostly good.

TheMorgan – unfortunately still doesn’t work, gives a “network disabled” error.
Amenities – works!
FitnessCenter – works!

We really want to flip this one to green, but coverage is spotty without all three APs working, especially since these are consumer routers and not a mesh network.  So we will flip this one to yellow, but it’s almost a green if you squint hard enough.

As we go into this holiday weekend at The Morgan, please enjoy some outdoor TV, pour one out for our homies, and raise a glass to Toll Brothers making good on some promises.  Jane, this song’s for you:
