Subject:	Freight Elevator

Good Morning –

Friday evening we took the freight elevator down as maintenance did not like a noise they were hearing. Our elevator company was called out to inspect and make any necessary repairs. After they left the elevator broke down. Maintenance has called out the elevator company again and are waiting for them to arrive. We are working to get a new elevator company contracted as the one we have currently continues to fail in making more permanent repairs. I will keep you posted as things progress today.

Absentee Jane is using the term “Freight elevator” loosely here.  Of the three passenger elevators that go above floor 12, one has padding semi-permanently hanging on the walls.  There is no true freight elevator in the building.  This also means that on move days (pretty much every week day), only two elevators serve floors 12 through PH because they put the “freight” elevator in service mode.  Read more on our elevator page.  Residents can look forward to another week of 20 minute waits and full elevators.
